Item Condition

It's very important to us that you are happy with the condition of every item you receive. We try to describe every item briefly but accurately. Here are our guidelines:

Brand New
A brand new item is an unused item in its original packaging (if any) that we have ordered either from a publisher or distributor.

Like New
A like new item is a used item in essentially brand new condition, but usually without original packaging.

Very Good
A very good item is a used item with limited wear. The item is complete and unmarked.

Good
A good item is a used item with moderate wear. The flaws will be noted in its description details.

Acceptable
An acceptable item is a used item that is worn but still usable. The flaws will be noted in its description details.

Withdrawn Library
BrightLight Books helps out local library systems by buying withdrawn library items in bulk, thus allowing the libraries to free up funds for new purchases. We will always describe these items as "Withdrawn Library". These items will show wear and markings typical of library-circulated items.

Collectible Items
We offer a range of collectible items. These will always be marked Collectible-"Condition", where "Condition" is one of the conditions above. A collectible item is a rare or unique item such as a signed first edition.

Item Availability Policy

Most of the items offered on our website are also for sale in our retail stores and through other channels. We work hard to keep our online inventory as up to date as possible, but sometimes we may no longer have or may not be able to find an item that has been ordered online. In the event we cannot fulfill your entire order we'll refund the portion of your order we couldn't find and give you $5 in store credit that you can use the next time you shop at BrightLight Books.

Shipping Policy

We offer flat rate $4.99 shipping for all orders. Orders ship for $4.99 regardless of size or price.

We do not currently offer expedited shipping online however it is available (for additional cost) if you call or email us after placing your order.

We try to ship same or next business day but depending on where the items in your order are and what time of day you place your order it's possible your items will miss the bus so to speak and it will take us an extra day to courier your items to our shipping facility.

Store pickup is available for all orders at no charge however depending on the location of your items and the time of day you place your order it may take up to 2 business days for your entire order to be ready for pickup. For the fastest service try to choose items at the store you're planning to pick up at.
